Cleaning up a little early in Waterbury. While Greenup day might not be until next weekend a group of volunteers gathered along Rout 2 in Waterbury just east of the Cider House restaraunt to gather tires and other debris left behind after Tropical Storm Irene. Despite the spitting snow flurries and freezing temperatures overnight the group started work around 9:00am on Saturday and within an hour had already removed and stacked hundreds of tires as well as piles of other debris washed downriver by the storm.
