June 27 – Vermont

June 27th, 2012

Continuing to shoot daily assignments for the Times Argus. Today I had to photograph some houses in Barre for a story on American Foursquare Architecture, after that the only other thing I had on my agenda was a Vermont Mountaineers baseball game so I spent the middle part of the day photographing insects in the Barre Cow Pasture.

A cricket from The family Tettigoniidae, more commonly known as a katydid is seen perched on a maple leaf

An adult water strider (family Gerridae) is seen on the surface of the stream that runs through the Barre City Cow Pasture. The Gerridae has the ability to distribute its weight in such a way as to not break the surface tension of the water allowing it to walk on water.
